Joel Grant

From playing church conventions and nightclubs in North London as an aspiring teenager to establishing and leading his own band, it is his enthusiasm for music that is fast making Joel Grant into one of the most acclaimed bassists in contemporary music. Liquid and fretless, with a charisma and poise that belies his youth; Joel Grant’s bass-playing is en-route to the effortless brilliance that seals success. The kind of success that will indubitably see him fashioning the type of lubricious riffs that have audiences dancing into early hours and New
Year’s alike.
Having travelled the globe
extensively, at merely
23 years old Grant is the architect of a CV that has seen
him recording and touring with the likes of N-Dubz and Lady GaGa to name but a few.
Hailing from the flourishing black church and having spent years slapping away, Joel’s foray into the music industry came aged 16 when he was given a slot on tour with UK soul
songstress Terri Walker.

Bass Guitar

To date, Grant’s masterstroke is as founder of Dynam!kz, an ensemble of musicians whose most distinguished accolade is as the band for many a prominent BBC 1Xtra live session. Established in June 2009 Dynam!kz have already gone on to record live sessions for several of the BBC’s top Urban radio DJ’s including; DJ Semtex, MistaJam and Ras Kwame. Their flair and finesse has seen them ascend to the kind of national prominence that has most recently seen them supporting the likes of chart-topper Dizzee Rascal in his hugely successful stint at the BBC Electric Proms. The Bassist, with his filthy, unsuspecting groove. Destined to be remembered somewhat fleetingly behind the beat of a drum; the wail of a singer and the pluck of a guitar string. The unsung craftsman who constructs the girders and rivets on which any good music stands. It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it. That someone is Joel Grant.
